Learning to live in the new normal.

Hello Unique-Movers!

I would like to catch up with you on what’s been happening :)

I recently found myself confined to bed-rest. (No, NOT for COVID-related reasons!! Thankfully) I saw it coming but didn’t think it would affect me so quickly. In a nutshell, I was burning the candle at both ends, so to speak.

Pre-lockdown, I operated on a tight schedule, trying to host various classes and fit in as many lessons/clients in each day -- most of my days would start before the birds even started singing! Lockdown levels 5, 4, and 3 forced me to slow down, review and re-strategize how I do things -- in business and in my personal life.

How are YOU adapting to this new way of living?

As Level 3 (extended edition) came into effect, and restrictions eased, I kicked into auto-mode and started trying to function the way that I had operated pre-lockdown, all the while trying to maintain the lifestyle I nurtured during hard-lockdown -- where I focused not only on my own self-development but also on the building, marketing, and sharing of UNIQUE MOVEMENT Pilates.

However, soon I was showing signs of mental and physical fatigue, and eventually, my body said ‘STOP!’ -- so I listened. After catching a few Z’s and allowing my brain to reboot, I realized that I needed to work on this transitional period (between hard-lockdown and now) to allow me the environment to take action and cultivate the lifestyle I truly want to live in this New-normal.

Things that helped me?

- Reading a stimulating book to nourish and wake up my brain in the morning

- Doing some breathing exercises to better oxygenate my body

- Have a nutritious breakfast

- Keep my main environment neat and tidy

- Stretching and doing Pilates

- Practicing time management

- Answer some quality and stimulating questions daily. E.g my recent 5-day quality question challenge on Facebook

- Music

- Listening to many inspirational people via webinars and workshops online.

Tell me how you’re coping with all these changes -- in your personal life and in your work life, and how are you adapting to the ‘new-normal’....?
